During your comprehensive eye exam, our eye doctor will evaluate your eye health, check your eye pressure, and examine your optic nerve for any signs of damage. We’ll also test your peripheral vision (the part of your sight that’s first affected by glaucoma) to see if there are any signs of vision loss. One of the innovative tools we use for this assessment is a virtual reality visual field headset. This advanced technology provides a more engaging and accurate way to test your peripheral vision.

In the early stages of glaucoma, we typically treat it with medicated eye drops. These eye drops lower eye pressure by decreasing or improving drainage of eye fluid. If eye drops aren’t enough, our eye doctor may prescribe oral medications or suggest laser therapy as a treatment option.
